Nighthawk Receives Order for Public Notification Project

DENVER, May 5, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nighthawk Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:NIHK) announced today that it has received an order from the Sedona Fire District of Sedona, Arizona for its PT1000 remote control boards to be used for public emergency notification. The controls will activate emergency warning signs in canyon areas prone to flash fires and floods.

Nighthawk has hundreds of remote control devices deployed nationwide in a variety of public notification applications. This latest order follows marketing efforts aimed at Fire Departments and Emergency Services agencies responsible for notifying the public in the event of an emergency. The Department of Homeland Security has only recently begun releasing funding for such purposes. Attention is being directed to the need to notify the public in areas surrounding chemical plants, dams, tunnels, hazardous materials storage facilities, and critical fire prone locations where significant loss of life and/or property is possible.

Myron Anduri, Nighthawk's President, commented, "The Department of Homeland Security has stated that they want to develop solutions that utilize existing technology and infrastructure. We believe this order confirms that our efforts in the area of public notification can yield strong results. Our paging based products give any public agency the ability to rapidly address a large number of warning signs over vast areas and do so at a price point that is the lowest in the industry. We feel that our remote control solutions are the easiest to use and most cost effective solutions on the market, and that this market will only grow."

H. Douglas Saathoff, CEO of Nighthawk, added, "We continue to reach new customers in our targeted markets. Considering that revenues in the past two years have been produced in large part by relatively few customers, the Company is in the process of successfully building a much more diverse customer base. Homeland Security initiatives and the public emergency notification market represent significant and growing areas of opportunity for the Company to continue its current trend of adding new business and strengthening its revenue base."
