JERUSALEM, May 5, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Identa Corp. (Pink Sheets:IDTA), a leading developer, manufacturer, and distributor of on-site drug abuse test kits, reports heavy international market activity in Romania, Australia, Ecuador and in the United States.
Identa has shipped out the first batch of an order for thousands of its test kits to the Ministry of the Interior of Romania, the organization in charge of Romanian police. This was the first order of such magnitude for Identa Corp.
Identa is at advanced stages of negotiations with local anti-drug authorities in Romania as well as with the Romanian Ministry of Justice, which is responsible for the Romanian prison authority.
The Australian Customs Service has completed a ten month trial of Identa's testing kits at all of its stations. The Customs Service used thousands of kits during the trial period. The decision of the Customs Service is expected to set precedent for the use of Identa's products throughout Australia, as the remaining professional authorities in Australia are awaiting the results of the trial. In the coming weeks, Identa expects to begin receiving orders from additional professional offices in Australia as well as in New Zealand.
Identa is waiting for a payment schedule from the Ecuadorian National Police for an order of approximately 15,000 kits. The company expects the schedule to be finalized shortly.
In the United States, Identa has made significant progress in trials being conducted by two sizable police departments.
