Superscape Group plc Awarded $1.2M Contract from Global Wireless Entertainment

HAMPSHIRE, U.K., May 7, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Superscape Group plc (LSE:SPS), leaders in revolutionary entertainment for mobile phones, announces today that it has won a contract, with a value of $1.2m, to develop a new portfolio of mobile games for Californian-based Global Wireless Entertainment Inc., (GWE). In addition to the development contract, Superscape will also work with GWE to distribute the games to global handset manufacturers and operators, for which Superscape will receive ongoing royalty revenues every time a game is downloaded over the air or supplied direct to a third party.

The new games will be based on high-profile IP (intellectual property) brands from leading entertainment companies; details on specific titles will be announced over the course of the next few months.

This latest contract with GWE follows the previous announcements in January 2004 detailing agreements for Superscape to develop games based on Evel Knievel and the Ivan Stewart Ironman brands.

Kevin Roberts, CEO, Superscape Group plc said: "The expansion of our relationship with GWE through this major contract provides us with the opportunity to bring some very exciting new Swerve-based game titles to the market over the course of the next twelve months. Our expanding catalogue of Swerve titles has already received very positive responses from global handset manufacturers and operators, and I am confident that the new titles will be received equally well.

"There are huge mass market revenues in mobile gaming, and the relationship between Superscape and GWE is a key element in ensuring that we participate fully in these opportunities."

Paul Buss, President, GWE said: "We selected Superscape late last year to build two titles after reaching the conclusion their 3D game engine would offer a compelling competitive advantage. After seeing the incredible results, including captivating visuals and their dedication to promote the titles, we decided to move further IP to market together. GWE has access to fantastic entertainment brands, when these brands are combined with Superscape's Swerve technology, I believe the result will be the next popular wave in mobile games. For both companies, this is a real win:win partnership."
