Photo Release -- U.S. Navy Recognizes Northrop Grumman's George Berry with Superior Public Service Award


HERNDON, Va., May 10, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- The U.S. Navy has presented Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE: NOC) George H. Berry, a manager of business development for the company's Information Technology (IT) sector, the Navy Superior Public Service Award, the service's second-highest civilian award.

Berry received the award for his unique contributions to the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command for the development of sophisticated imagery architecture for the Navy's Surf Eagle system from 1995 to 2001.

"This is a great example of government and industry working together to develop an effective system, on time and within budget," said Sidney E. Fuchs, president of Northrop Grumman Information Technology's TASC business unit. "The contributions George made to the Navy's imagery exploitation capability significantly impacted the quality of intelligence support Navy warfighters received."

Berry retired from the Navy as a commander in 1993. Since then, he has provided system engineering and research and development to Northrop Grumman IT's intelligence clients. Berry received his bachelor's degree in 1972 from the University of Utah and his master's degree in 1977 from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, Calif.
