Environmental Technologies Appoints Asian Marketing Expert as Consultant to Board of Directors

TUCSON, Ariz., May 11, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Environmental Technologies, Inc. (Pink Sheets:EMTI) is pleased to announce that Timothy C. Heberlein has been retained as a special consultant to the board of directors.

Combining a unique wealth of experience and expertise in Asian business management, marketing, media, sales, and government affairs, Heberlein's career comprises numerous successes at the senior executive level, including: founder and president of TS Edgewater Consultants (China market & brand communications consulting); 5 years as president of EDELMAN Public Relations Worldwide - China (growing the firm to #1 in the China market), 8 years as managing director, Asia-Pacific - Cotton Council International (advancing U.S. cotton's rank as Asia's leading fashion fibre), and serving as an elected governor on the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce - Beijing. Named 'Inc. Magazine's International Salesman of the Year' in 1985, Heberlein was also awarded 'Packaging Systems Design of the Year' while serving as managing partner of Thayne Madrid Marketing & Design Consultants (Singapore).

In welcoming Mr. Heberlein to his role as special consultant to the board of directors, Environmental Technologies president & CEO, John Hedges, commented, "I am confident that the Corporation's ambitious plans regarding many aspects of its proposed business in pan-Asian markets will be materially advanced through the presence and valuable counsel of such a widely recognized Asian business veteran as Mr. Heberlein. In both our outsourcing activities and our marketing efforts throughout Asia, Mr. Heberlein's experience and personal contacts will be of inestimable value to the Company."

Environmental Technologies, Inc. recently brought its Computer Guard security device to market and is currently testing prototypes of additional hi-tech security devices, which it intends to launch over the next several quarters.

Computer Guard - directly addresses what has emerged in recent years as an international epidemic - theft of laptop computers and the countless billions of dollars of valuable and critical data they contain. It is generally recognized that business-critical, proprietary confidential corporate data lost to potential competitors through laptop theft could amount to tens of $ billions in costs.

Environmental Technologies' products currently being developed for specific market applications include short and long-range detection devices that can be hidden in clothing, or on valuables, and that will emit signals to loved ones or owners of articles. The technology provides a capability that is ideal for families living in fear of their children being kidnapped, or of having elderly family members, suffering from dementia or any other form of memory loss, wander off aimlessly without their loved one's knowledge. Alarmingly, kidnapping in North America has risen to an all-time high of over 800 persons per day! We believe that our product range admirably addresses these growing security needs, and that the marketplace will enthusiastically receive them as they are introduced.
