International Buyer Symposium to Highlight Acquisition Opportunities in North American Middle Market

London Event will Feature Address from Joyce Rabens, Economic Affairs Minister for U.S. Embassy

COSTA MESA, Calif., May 13, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Joyce Rabens, Economic Affairs Minister for the U.S. Embassy to the United Kingdom, will serve as keynote speaker at the RSM EquiCo International Buyer Symposium being held June 22 in London. Approximately 100 senior executives, representing many of the United Kingdom's top corporations and private equity groups, are expected to attend the daylong event, which will feature panel discussions on an array of issues associated with cross-border mergers and acquisitions.

RSM EquiCo, an international investment bank specializing in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures for private companies with sales up to $500 million, actively markets North American companies to prospective buyers in Europe. The firm, which has offices in London, is hosting the Symposium to give European business leaders a better understanding of the current acquisition climate in North America while addressing an array of relevant strategic, financial, legal and tax issues. The Symposium will feature experts from organizations such as GE Capital, Jones Day, AT Kearney, RSM Robson Rhodes, HSBC Investment Bank, Aird & Berlis, RSM McGladrey and Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, as well as RSM EquiCo.

"North America is an extraordinarily attractive market for acquisition-minded companies in Europe and throughout the world," said Coby Sonenshine, the firm's president. "The U.S. is the world's largest, most affluent market, and its economy appears to be gaining momentum following three years of sluggish growth. The private middle market is particularly appealing to international buyers seeking to establish or expand their presence here."

The International Buyer Symposium will also afford RSM EquiCo a particularly attractive forum for presenting specific acquisition opportunities to European executives that have expressed interest in North American middle-market companies.

The event will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel London.
