Spirits are Lifted with the Monday Night Gospel Celebration at Great Plaza


PHILADELPHIA, May 21, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Penn's Landing once again has partnered with WDAS AM, WDAS FM and Power 99 FM to bring the Monday Night Gospel Celebration to the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing located at Columbus Boulevard and Chestnut Street with the Monday Night Gospel Celebration. The uplifting sounds of Gospel music will fill the night air every Monday night through the month of June with the best in Gospel talent, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The series will begin on Monday, June 7th with Tyrone Tribett & Greater Anointing. This talented group of 15-20 friends and family members has taken the gospel world by storm. Started in 1996, the group has performed with such names as Don Henley and Yolanda Adams. They will be followed by the inspiring music of Sharon Baptist.

Monday, June 14th features the powerful sounds of Philadelphia native Dezzie. This gifted performer uses her voice to help women through tough times. Dezzie's goal is to spread the message of love though her soulful sound. Breath of Heaven will close out the evening with their moving message of faith.

On Monday, June 21st Tony Moore and Jehovah's Chosen will move the crowd with their inventive sound. This group creates a unique sound by uniting many different genres of music. Their inspirational sound will get the audience off their feet. Judah Dance Ministries will keep the crowd on their feet with their rhythmic movements and expressions. This dance ministry uses their talent to express hymns, prayers, songs, and scriptures that speak to their passion and faith.

Philadelphia Community Youth Mass Choir will draw the series to a close on Monday, June 28 with their pulsating choir vocals. Making a lasting impression, this young group of singers use exuberant up-tempo beats that will leave the audience wanting more. Enon Tabernacle Mass Choir will close the series out with an invigorating performance. This choir will be taking their ministry on the road this summer through Pennsylvania and Ohio for their "Anchoring Bright Children" tour.

WDASAM, WDAS FM, and Power 99 will all be onsite each week with promotional items. The Philadelphia Tribune is also proud to be a promotional partner for this series. These concerts are FREE to the public and seating is available first come first serve basis.
