EMS Technologies Named to Business 2.0's 100 Fastest-Growing Tech Companies for Second Year in Row

ATLANTA, May 21, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ELMG) has announced today its inclusion in Business 2.0 Magazine's third annual B2 100 (100 fastest-growing tech companies) for the second straight year. Business 2.0 is a leading business and technology magazine published by Time Inc.

EMS, one of three Georgia companies to make the list, moved up from 69 to 67 this year. The B2 100 is featured in the June 2004 issue of the magazine, on newsstands May 24.

To find the B2 100, the magazine started with 2,000 publicly traded tech companies and narrowed the list to companies that have been trading for at least three years, bring in at least $50 million in annual revenue, and have positive cash flow during the most recently reported 12 months. Zacks Investment Research of Chicago ranked the companies using a rigorous combination of four financial criteria: growth in revenue, profit, and operating cash flow during the past three years, and 12-month stock return. Cash flow growth counted for 40 percent of a company's ranking; each of the other criteria counted for 20 percent.

In 2003, EMS set a new record of $256.2 in revenues from continuing operations, and generated $8.9 million in earnings on those revenues.

"EMS Technologies is proud to make Business 2.0's list for another year in recognition of our sustained performance as a leading manufacturer of wireless and satellite solutions to both commercial and defense markets," said Al Hansen, president and CEO, EMS Technologies.
