Love, Terrorism and Other Catastrophes -- All in a New Book

HOWEY IN THE HILLS, Fla., May 25, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Suspense. Action. Romance. Name it, you got it. In the new book, The Ninth River, learn the definition of great fiction as Hawk Kiefer weaves an extraordinary tale of destruction, deception, and deadly romantic attraction pitted against terrorist forces at work.

Captain Beth Walker and CIA agent Matt Price are attacked in Jeddah. Prince Ahmad, a member of the royal family, helps them escape to Cairo. The CIA identifies their attacker as Saleh, a Yemeni terrorist. Moving to Damascus, they uncover a terrorist plan to attack Jerusalem and start a new war. Beth is captured as they enter Israel, but Matt rescues her and their relationship deepens. As they thwart the attack against the Western Wall, they discover a shocking revelation putting hundreds of lives in the center of a sinister plot.

A West Point graduate who has served twenty-five years in the military, Kiefer says that The Ninth River is a relevant book that puts human faces on places and events currently in the news. Exploring the serious issues of terrorism and the Saudi Arabian connection, the book has successfully depicted the devastating effects of violence and what it can further cause if not stopped.
