Shuman is vice president, Human Resources and Administration for Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector.

INROADS is an organization whose mission is to develop and place talented minority youth in business and industry, and prepare students for corporate and community leadership. INROADS and Northrop Grumman have a long-standing working relationship to bring ethnically diverse college students to intern at various Northrop Grumman business units and headquarters locations.

As chairman, Shuman will be responsible for supporting INROADS' affiliate managing director within the areas of corporate development, public relations and fundraising. In addition, he will provide insight into the local business community, identify community leaders, assist with organizational resources and address challenges.

Shuman has been a member of INROADS Greater Baltimore-Washington since 1997, and has served on its board of directors since 2000. He is also a representative to the INROADS National Council, the governing body that reviews and oversee INROADS' national operations.

Shuman earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from The Citadel, Charleston, S.C., and has completed executive development programs at Harvard, Cornell, Wharton and the University of Virginia.
