Deja View Signs Advent Electronics to Produce First Wearable, 'Can't Miss The Shot' Mini-Camcorder

BRICK, N.J., June 10, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Deja View, Inc., the first company to introduce a wearable digital mini-camcorder with unique "after-the-fact" recording technology for the consumer market, today announced it has contracted with Advent Electronics Pte Ltd. of Singapore to build its products.

Terms of the strategic partnership were not disclosed, but according to Jeff Sobel, executive vice president of Deja View, Advent "Is committed to deliver the products in the quantities we specified to meet our scheduled June launch."

The Deja View Model 100 is the first wearable digital camcorder that solves the age-old "I missed the shot" problem for most photographers. The tiny camera can be clipped to a pair of eyeglasses or on the bill of a hat. The recording device and digital storage are housed in a PDA-sized unit worn on a belt, waistband or fanny pack. The camera, which will sell for under $400, records 30 seconds of action that occurred BEFORE the user presses the "record" button.

"This strategic partnership with Advent Electronics is a significant milestone for our two-year-old firm," said Sobel, who added that Advent's customers, direct and indirect, include the world's leading electronics companies. "Advent is known for its quality manufacturing and quality assurance, and has a successful track record with the 'Who's Who' of the electronics industry."

"It was clear to us from the start that Deja View has great ideas, and we are proud to be selected as its manufacturing partner," said S.S. Lim, Advent's CEO. "Deja View's first product, the Model 100, is truly innovative. We look forward to becoming a long-term partner with the company as it takes a high-profile position in a rapidly growing market with many more exciting new products in the future."
