Come Into the Jungles of Vietnam

New Book Relives One Battalion Surgeon's Horrendous Experience in Vietnam

SMITHTOWN, N.Y., June 15, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- After years of suppressing his Vietnam memories, Dr. Frank Lunati began talking to his family about his part in the war. He decided that he would like to put his Vietnam experience in book form as a tribute to those who served in Vietnam. As a battalion surgeon, he was uniquely placed to see firsthand the tragedy of war. He contacted Gene Ligotti, an author and his friend of fifty years. Using as a base the daily letters that Dr. Lunati wrote to his wife, along with hours of discussions with Dr. Lunati and research on the war, Ligotti has brought Dr. Lunati's story to life in the moving new book, Time Never Heals. Reading the first draft, Dr. Lunati felt that he was thrust back into the battle-torn jungles of Vietnam. You will too.

This book brings "Nam" to you in a way you will never forget. All through its pages, Dr. Lunati relives in vivid detail the search-and-destroy missions, and the battles of Happy Valley, Ia Drang, and Bong Son. He takes you with him as he ships out and travels to Vietnam, and lives through a horrific year. You will experience the war with him and meet the friends he made and those he lost.

"Time Never Heals will make readers more appreciative of the Vietnam soldiers and provide an understanding of their sacrifices for freedom and the American way of life," says Ligotti. Indeed, the book is a most brilliant portrayal of what it means to be an American and a soldier fighting for freedom.
