1,600 Attendees Gather at Industry Event to Learn, Share Best Practices and Strategies and Hear Industry Luminaries

ORLANDO, June 15, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Harland Financial Solutions, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of John H. Harland Company (NYSE:JH), announced today that on Friday, June 4, 2004, its annual Connections User's Group Conference ended with the largest attendance in the company's history.

More than 1,600 attendees participated in the opening session, during which they were addressed by Frank Abagnale, a consultant acknowledged as one of the world's most respected authorities on the subjects of forgery, identity theft and embezzlement. Abagnale, whose life was characterized in the best-selling book and motion picture "Catch Me if You Can," shared his life's story with the attendees, and also addressed how financial institutions can advise their customers regarding how to protect themselves from fraud and identity theft. Later in the week, the group was addressed by representatives from IBM, Tower Group, Cornerstone Advisors, Alex Sheshunoff Management Associated and Thredgold Economic Associates.

This year's Connections was unique because it included users of all of Harland Financial Solutions' products and customers from each of the organization's business units.
