STOCKHOLM, Sweden, June 16, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Haldex Foundation Brakes, a division in the Haldex group, has signed a development agreement for air disc brakes to Scania's heavy vehicle program. The ongoing customer specific development and field test activities aim at serial deliveries in 2006

The agreement between Haldex and Scania regarding the ongoing customer specific development and field tests, covers the new ModulX series of Haldex disc brakes, specially designed for demanding heavy-duty applications.

The disc brake agreement with Scania follows an earlier disc brake serial delivery order from Volvo/Reanult, and confirms Haldex ambition and capability to establish a strong market position in the heavy vehicle air disc brake market.

The necessary preparations to manage the increased disc brake volume at Haldex factory in Landskrona, Sweden, have already started, but will require some additional investments and manpower.
