Ocwen Financial Corporation Announces Community Good Works Project Success

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., June 17, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Ocwen Financial Corporation (NYSE:OCN) is proud to announce that Jim Dempster is the Ocwen Six Sigma Star of the Month for his extraordinary service and dedication to the Seminole County Community Alliance (SCCA) Six Sigma Project, improving the lives of local children. Ocwen is dedicated to devoting human and financial capital toward assisting local communities, and its employees are encouraged to be good social citizens. Ocwen embraces the quality-driven methodologies of Six Sigma, both internally and within the community.

Ocwen employees' unending dedication to charitable and social causes is remarkable and fulfilling. Each year, employees contribute to charitable organizations and donate time and energy to worthy social activities, such as homeownership workshops, blood drives, heart walks, and holiday gift campaigns and food drives.

Ocwen constantly looks for ways to improve its high customer service standards, while at the same time striving to discover opportunities to serve the community. "We are very proud of our reputation as a good corporate citizen, and Jim's success with the SCCA Project is a primary example of Ocwen's good works in the community," said Bill Rinehart, Ocwen Vice President, who is responsible for the Corporation's Six Sigma program.

Mr. Dempster helped develop and implement a governance model for the SCCA that will enable it to provide improved oversight and leadership, resulting in a brighter future for the children of Seminole County. "I greatly appreciate Jim's unflagging commitment of time and energy, his dedicated service to the community, and his practical application of the Six Sigma and Quality skills in accomplishing this high-impact project for the Seminole County Community Alliance," said Dr. Hortense Evans, SCCA Chair.

The project also included a needs assessment of children's social services in Seminole County, which identified service providers, programs, gaps in service, eligibility requirements and capacity issues, resulting in more efficient services for those in need. This will lead to a better-prioritized SCCA, with concrete steps toward enhanced services and improved lives for Seminole County's children.

"Working at Ocwen, I've seen the benefits of quality management in the business sector, but it was very rewarding to see the social benefits as well. The children of Seminole County will have much better lives and more opportunities to grow and advance as a result of the more efficient leadership of the SCCA. It was a privilege to be able to contribute to this worthwhile project," said Jim Dempster.
