RESTON, Va., June 21, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has received several contracts that support the transformation of Army intelligence systems and capabilities for future operations.
In recent task order awards under the U.S. Army's Intelligence Master Plan contract, Northrop Grumman is studying ground sensors on the future battlefield, an integrated broadcast system, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance integration. Northrop Grumman is also providing intelligence analytic support to the Army staff and Functional Area 16, Actionable Intelligence.
In March, the U.S. Army Intelligence Command awarded Northrop Grumman a $13 million contract to provide professional and technical support services to develop and maintain the Army Intelligence Master Plan. Beyond this base-year award, the contract has a potential value of $69 million, if four additional one-year options are awarded.
The Army Intelligence Master Plan supports senior Army intelligence leadership by envisioning, documenting and developing assessments and road maps to transition the current force to the future force.
"This contract places us in the forefront of Army intelligence transformation and the Army's focus on `actionable intelligence,'" said Barry Rhine, president, Defense Mission Systems, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems.
Under the contract, Northrop Grumman provides decision-support, planning, study, programming, budgeting, execution, modeling, simulation, and analysis services to the Army's intelligence and training commands and the Army Intelligence Center and School at Fort Huachuca, Ariz.
Northrop Grumman has held this contract for 17 years.
