The Price of Ignoring God -- New Book Stresses Need to Follow God's Path

LA QUINTA, Calif., June 21, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- For those who have chosen a path away from God, Cindy Joanne Balch offers a book that warns of the dangers of ignoring God and his messages. In her new book, The Journey is Too Great for Thee: When the Journey is Too Long, Too Hard or Too Scary to Make Alone (now available through AuthorHouse), she tells of the high price of disobedience.

In her new book, Balch describes the decisions of many people who have chosen to take their own path in life and ignore God's warnings and advice. Lessons learned can be difficult, Balch writes, and God's path isn't always the easiest one. The alternative, however, can be devastating, and by the time one realizes they've taken the wrong path, it could be too late.

"God does not play games," Balch writes. "He is playing for keeps. Yet, many of us treat life like it is a game. Many of us treat God like some personal vending machine in the sky. 'God give me this. God give me that. Hurry, God.' . . . What we don't realize is that there is a line God draws for each of us and he says, 'Don't cross over it!'"

Balch interjects her own story. She decided she didn't need God and took her children with her on that dark road. She learned that people's lives are the sum total of their responses to God, and she learned the hard way about the price of independence from God.

"Sin always comes with a price tag. Usually, it's a very costly one. By his grace and love, I found that what I thought was a one way ticket to hell was not. He had purchased my return ticket himself. He has also purchased yours," she writes.

With Bible verses, personal tales and encouragement to get readers back to God's light, Balch offers this inspirational book to help people find their way back to the source of all happiness.

Balch has been a critical care nurse for more than 34 years and lives in Southern California. She has two children and two grandchildren. The author can be contacted via email at ajourneytoogreat@aol.com.
