Two Cities -- One Waterfront Challenge(r) Arrives One Week from Today

More than a dozen tall ships representing six countries and six U.S. states join exciting calendar of events July 4th weekend at the Camden Waterfront and Penn's Landing


PHILADELPHIA, June 23, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) --



 WHAT: Tall Ships from around the world will arrive one week from
       today for the Two Cities -- One Waterfront Tall Ships
       Challenge(r), a four-day, maritime-themed festival occurring at
       the Camden Waterfront and Penn's Landing July 1-4. All vessels
       will travel up the Delaware River, which is roughly in a
       northeast direction, and pass under the Delaware Memorial,
       Commodore Berry and Walt Whitman bridges. Some vessels will
       enter at the Delaware Bay (i.e., Cape May/Lewes area); others
       will transit the C & D Canal from the Chesapeake Bay and enter
       the river at Delaware City (Pea Patch Island/Fort Delaware).
       Visitors will enjoy tours of 12 participating ships that will
       be open to the public daily between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. along
       with a variety of activities coordinated to celebrate the
       historic port visit and Independence Day including fireworks,
       music, food, arts & craft exhibits and a marketplace. Tickets
       for a one-day pass are $5 for adults and children over the age
       of 3 and FREE for children under 3. A special one-day pass for
       $10 will be offered that includes tours of the ships and a
       roundtrip ride aboard the RiverLink Ferry which connects Penn's
       Landing and the Camden Waterfront.

 WHEN: June 30 (Ships Arrive) 9 a.m. -- Noon
       July 1-4 (Ships Open to the Public for Tours) 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
