Footsteps Over the Newswire -- New Book Features Stories that Touch a Universal Chord

BELLEVUE, Switzerland, June 24, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- "As we search for meaning in our lives, we are seeking a single-and universal-homeland," says Susan M. Tiberghien. Her new book, Footsteps, A European Album, 1955-1990, takes us to this homeland through stories that are individual, but touch a universal chord. It offers us a journey of discovery to our common heritage where we are, finally, one large family.

In our fragmented lives today, we look for the different pieces. Here is a way to put them together and find their meaning. Tiberghien gives us a mosaic of life's different stories, stories of trust and hope. As author Peter Meinke puts it, "Susan Tiberghien's poetic memoir evokes a life fully lived and closely observed. In elegant prose and poetry, she presents the landscapes of her time with fresh eyes, gentle humor, and a generous spirit."

The stories in Footsteps have been published individually in journals and anthologies. They are the stories behind the author's two memoirs, Looking for Gold and Circling to the Center. Now, Tiberghien has woven a selection of them together, following the theme of footsteps - footsteps across the ocean, footsteps across Europe, footsteps home.

Speaking to all readers, Susan M. Tiberghien succeeds in creating a masterpiece that not only shows her literary dexterity but triumphs in bringing together humanity's beautiful story of life and living.
