Bitfone Expands Executive Management Team With The Addition Of Bill Kaminsky And Fred Hasani


LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif., June 28, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Bitfone Corporation (www.bitfone.com), the company that pioneered firmware update technology over-the-air (OTA) for mobile phones, today announced it has appointed Bill Kaminsky as vice president of research and development, and Fred Hasani as vice president general counsel. Kaminsky and Hasani bring more than 33 years of combined experience in wireless, telecommunications and high-technology industries to the Bitfone management team.

"Kaminsky's well-rounded background as an architect, implementer, educator, customer and vendor has allowed him to play an instrumental role in leading research and development in the wireless industry. Hasani has established a comprehensive background in strategic partnerships, technology agreements, mergers & acquisitions, venture financings, and business counseling for emerging technology companies," said Gene Wang, chairman and CEO of Bitfone. Prior to joining Bitfone, Kaminsky held the position of vice president of research and development with DoOnGo Technologies, where he led the strategy and development of new technology for over-the-air device management. Previously, he served in management and engineering leadership roles at Verizon, Vodafone, AirTouch Communications, Square D Corporate Technology Center, Borg-Warner Research Center and AT&T Bell Laboratories. Kaminsky is an inventor on four patents granted in the area of cellular communications, and is an expert in 3G security, cellular authentication and fraud management. Kaminsky is currently adjunct faculty for the University of San Francisco and holds his Doctorate and Master of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois, as well as his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University.

Hasani previously practiced law at White & Lee LLP, providing legal services and business counseling for high-growth companies within emerging technology sectors in the Silicon Valley and southern California. His practice focused on technology licensing, venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, securities and employment law. Prior to practicing law, Hasani worked at Ernst & Young LLP, where he was involved in the mergers & acquisitions group, as well as the technology, communication and entertainment group. Hasani is a member of the State Bar of California and holds his Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California. He received his Bachelor of Arts in business economics and history from the University of California Los Angeles.
