Beware the Lake of Fire -- Author's Biblical Examination Supports Christians' Spiritual Journey

WILLIAMSTON, S.C., July 1, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- David B. Hathcock believes the road to heaven involves a deep understanding of Christ's message. In his new book, A Path Through the Weeds: A Commentary on Misunderstood Issues of the Bible (now available through AuthorHouse), he shares his concern that today's Christian churches might be misinterpreting the original words of the Scriptures.

A Path Through the Weeds contains Hathcock's research of the King James Bible and its companion guide, Strong's Concordance, as well as other religious texts. He states that the more he investigated, the more he was convinced that God's words had been misconstrued by men.

Hathcock's studies reveal a plethora of intriguing information that many Christians find shocking and enlightening. He delves into the biblical reasons for the turmoil in the Middle East and warns of an imminent world government that will be run by the Antichrist. Hathcock exposes the true sin of Eve, which, he writes, did not just involve eating an apple. He even offers an explanation of UFOs through ancient Scripture.

"This book explores the mistaken ideas man has fashioned in his and others' minds and the misunderstandings being taught in circular Christian churches everywhere," Hathcock writes. "These untruths are leading God's children down a primrose path, which will lead to their deaths."

Hathcock was born in Tennessee during the Great Depression. He attended the University of Tennessee, where he first discovered his interest in writing. Hathcock served in the U.S. Army at Fort Carson, Colo., for three years during the Vietnam War. He married Katherine A. Harrison and they raised two children. While his children were young, Hathcock was charged for attempted murder after a bar fight and was later acquitted. It was this ordeal that sparked his need to know God. After years of working across the country, Hathcock is now retired and lives in South Carolina. A Path Through the Weeds is his first published book. His second book, The Way of Cain, will soon be published through AuthorHouse, and he is working on a third manuscript and collection of poems.
