North American Foster Care Professionals to Convene in Nashville

MEDIA ADVISORY, July 9, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) --

WHAT: Foster care is currently a hot topic in the media. In
Tennessee, thousands of children are in foster care. This
month, more than 700 treatment foster care experts from the
United States and Canada will meet in Nashville to discuss
best practices at the Foster Family-Based Treatment
Association's (FFTA) 18th Annual Conference on Treatment
          Foster Care.

Treatment foster care differs from regular foster care in
that it serves hard-to-place foster children with emotional
and behavioral difficulties or who are medically fragile.
FFTA sets program standards and provides training and
resources for treatment foster care professionals and foster
          parents.

 WHEN: July 18 through 21.

WHERE: Gaylord Opryland(tm) Resort & Convention Center
          2800 Opryland Dr.
          Nashville

WHY: With more than 60 workshops taught by top leaders and
pioneers in the field of treatment foster care, this annual
conference offers foster care and children's services
professionals a chance to learn about new trends, innovative
programs and best practices in the field of treatment foster
