Northrop Grumman and its industry teammates Aurora Flight Sciences, Rolls-Royce, Raytheon Company and L-3 Communications will present an update on the RQ-4 Global Hawk high-altitude, long-endurance unmanned reconnaissance system. Global Hawk provides high-resolution imagery in near real time to battlefield commanders. While conducting strategic reconnaissance missions during its operational debut in Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom, the system proved its flexibility as a tactical asset. This presentation will describe a recent demonstration in which a Hawkeye directed a Fire Scout UAV to detect a ground target. Then, using an Internet-like network, took a video feed from the UAV's camera and passed it to another site where the video was converted to precise target data.
