Narrowstep Beams British PM on the Web

LONDON, July 14, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Narrowstep, the TV on the Internet company, tomorrow webcasts an interview with the Right Honourable Tony Blair, Prime Minister of the U.K., from his official residence at No. 10 Downing St, live on the internet.

The Prime Minister will take part in a webcast and online chat about the Government's five-year plan for education, facilitated by Narrowstep's TV Station in a Box technology. Teachers and educators will be encouraged to log on and ask questions directly. The event will be available for review on demand after the event.

The U.K. Government has a strong commitment to broadband development and already runs internal IPTV stations within Government Departments, such as the Department for Education and Skills, and has already rolled out broadband access to every school in the U.K.

The webcast can be viewed from the TeacherNet web site at www.teachernet.gov.uk from 11:15am BST/6:15am EST.

In contrast, next week Narrowstep will be webcasting live championship windsurfing from the PWA World Tour from Fuertaventura in the Canary Islands on the world's first 24/7 Internet TV channel, High.tv (http://www.high.tv).

"With more and more people on broadband connections, narrowcasting is now a reality," comments Narrowstep CEO, Iolo Jones. "These events showcase how our technology can be used to make content available anytime, anyplace, anywhere."
