Telelogic SYNERGY(TM) Named Industry's Best Application Change Management Tool by Yphise for Third Time Running

SYNERGY Receives "Stand Out" Ratings in All Five Categories

Malmo, SWEDEN, July 19, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Telelogic (Stockholm Exchange:TLOG), the leading global provider of solutions for advanced software and systems development, today announced Telelogic SYNERGY earned the 2004 Yphise Award for Best Application Change Management software. The award was based on a comprehensive performance and functionality assessment using ISO 9001 certified methodology. SYNERGY has received the award for each of the last three evaluations.

Yphise, a leading independent analyst firm, evaluated the performance of five application change management tools from different vendors using a list of 453 requirements in five categories. The categories were: 1) ensuring that changes in an application are controlled; 2) improving development and maintenance productivity; 3) reducing the cost due to technology heterogeneity; 4) reducing the application regression upon change, and 5) improving the responsiveness to the application change requests. After an exhaustive evaluation, SYNERGY delivered exceptional performance in all five categories.

"Telelogic SYNERGY stands out compared to the software solutions of other vendors. As a result, Yphise attributes the Yphise AWARD to this product assessing it as the best ranked one in comparison with the competition," the award letter states. The full results of the evaluation were published in Yphise's June 2004 report, Application Change Management Tools.

The Yphise Award is the only distinction based on an ISO 9001:2000-certified comparative assessment of the software products. ISO 9001:2000 is the worldwide quality standard and guarantees independence and focus on the key issues for large companies.

"Telelogic SYNERGY stands out thanks to its user-friendliness and ease of use. It hides configuration management operations from users. This facilitates acceptation and use of change management tools by developers. Telelogic SYNERGY facilitates requirements-driven development thanks to this ease of use and its close integration into Telelogic DOORS," said Yphise Analyst Laurent Mynard from Yphise Paris labs.

"We're extremely proud to have Telelogic SYNERGY recognized as the industry's best application change management solution by a prestigious and internationally-recognized analyst organization such as Yphise," said Anders Lidbeck, Telelogic CEO. "SYNERGY earned this award because it provides critical, robust lifecycle control for all software development assets, helping businesses improve their development processes, accelerate release cycles, maximize productivity regardless of team size or location, and minimize overhead through automation and the use of repeatable best practices."

According to the Yphise report, SYNERGY stands out in all five categories for the following reasons: - Ensuring that changes in an application are controlled: "SYNERGY stands out because it supports complex dependencies between the steps in the workflow and the target environments where applications or files are deployed. This helps in meeting the architecture and environment management requirements of each project, for instance for outsourced projects."

- Improving development and maintenance productivity: SYNERGY stands out because it synchronizes all the data, including change requests and workflow definitions, not only files. Another strength with regard to this dimension is interface availability in various languages. This facilitates the use for development distributed internationally."

- Reducing the cost due to technology heterogeneity: "SYNERGY stands out because it facilitates access to the appropriate tools for each action on each asset type. This makes it possible to adapt the tools to be used by the various players in the change process."

- Reducing the application regression upon change: "SYNERGY stands out because it provides rich cleansing functions for the asset repository. This makes it possible to accurately archive or delete versions, in order to keep the repository size operational. SYNERGY stands out in ensuring secure application change management, because it includes e-signatures. This enhances confidence that changes have been performed by authorized people."

- Improving the responsiveness to the application change requests: "SYNERGY stands out because it facilitates the collecting of change requests. It supports the full range of possible interfaces or sources for collecting the change requests, i.e. Web or Windows interfaces, change request submission by e-mail, interface with third-party tools."
