TSA to Announce Launch Of Registered Traveler Pilot At LAX


LOS ANGELES, July 22, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Officials from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Los Angeles World Airports, and United Airlines will hold a news conference to announce the launch of the Registered Traveler Pilot Program at Los Angeles International Airport. Beginning Thursday, registered travelers will speed through a designated security checkpoint lane, as each provides a fingerprint or iris scan for identity confirmation.

Following the press conference, media will be escorted to the security checkpoint where TSA will demonstrate the biometric technology used by registered travelers.
