Veracomp and Nomadix Partner to Distribute Access Gateways in Central & Eastern European Markets

Nomadix HotSpot Gateways To Enable Wi-Fi Public-access

CRACOW, Poland , July 26, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nomadix Inc. (www.nomadix.com), the leading supplier of Public-access solutions, and Veracomp, the Polish specialised distributor of niche and advanced technology products, announced today that the two companies have signed a distribution agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, Veracomp will sell and provide technical and educational support for Nomadix' products to telecommunications companies, service providers, value-added resellers and systems integrators in Poland, Romania, Moldavia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Hungary.

Veracomp will offer the Nomadix family of Access Gateways including the AG-2000w, HSG and the USG II addressing the individual needs of organisations -- from small and medium businesses to large enterprises.

The AG-2000w is the ideal "HotSpot in a Box" for small, single cell deployments as it incorporates the patented and patent-pending functionality of the Nomadix Service Engine(tm) (NSE ) with high-performance and future-proof Wi-Fi(tm) radio technology. The HSG is a cost-effective platform designed for small to medium-sized Public-access locations. The HSG is transport agnostic and enables the deployment of wired, wireless or hybrid networks supporting up to 150 simultaneous users at the HotSpot so it can be tailored to the market the provider serves. Capable of supporting thousands of simultaneous users, the USG II is Nomadix' high-performance platform, designed for deployment in large venues such as hotels, airports and convention centers.

Veracomp has expertise in promoting Public-access technologies in Poland (representing Proxim, D-Link, Alvarion) and abroad. The agreement with Nomadix will strengthen the position of Veracomp among European distributors of HotSpot solutions and enable the company to extend its market reach.

"Our partnership agreement to distribute the Nomadix family of Public-access Gateways in Central and Eastern Europe further demonstrates the company's growing footprint and market leadership around the globe," said Mario Maas, sales director, EMEA, for Nomadix. "Veracomp is a leading value-added distributor that partners with a host of high-end resellers and systems integrators targeting key markets such as hotels, HotSpots and enterprises, creating an ideal fit for Nomadix as we strengthen our channel in new and exciting regions."

"The sales of HotSpot infrastructure continue to grow giving us a better perspective of the telecom and service provider market opportunity," said Mariusz Kochanski, director of network systems department and member of the board, Veracomp. "Additionally, HotSpots have become popular among large enterprises, where they can be installed and used as Visitor Based Networks."

According to research firm IDC, demand for HotSpots is expected to grow dramatically, particularly in Europe. They predict nearly 8 million HotSpot users and 18,000 HotSpots in Western Europe by 2007, with the majority of those users logging in to networks in airports, hotels, train stations, and restaurants. The analysts from Gartner expect that the number of HotSpot users worldwide will triple in 2004 and will total 30 million in 2004, up from 9.3 million users in 2003.
