A Boy's Quest to Save Earth -- Author Weaves Spectacular Story of Battle with Shadow Lord

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark., Aug. 3, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Uscita Winston thinks he is just like any other 12-year-old American boy, but he soon learns that he holds the power to save the universe. In A.B. Lostetter's new science fiction novel, Yesterday's Shadow (now available through AuthorHouse), Uscita battles the Shadow Lord and attempts to rescue his people from destruction.

The Shadow Lord, an evil being created during the chaos of the Big Bang, has been trapped outside the fabric of the universe in an agonizing state for millions of years. The only way to end his suffering is to destroy the universe. The Shadow Lord believes that Uscita, who can travel through time and dimensions, can transport him back in time to prevent the Big Bang from ever occurring.

When time mysteriously stops, Uscita learns of the dark lord and his evil plans. He also finds out that his father is the head of the Scarlet Order, a society formed to protect innocents from evil. Uscita is next in line to take over this effort. Two of Uscita's classmates are actually knights who have been protecting him. Peter, an angelic warrior, and George, an ancient dragon, later help Uscita flee from an attack upon Earth.

Wounded in the incident, Uscita wakes up on the bloody battlefields of World War II. He thinks this gruesome war is an indication that the Shadow Lord has already begun to control the earth, but later Uscita is startled to discover that the Lord is merely a spectator of this horror. Humans brought war on themselves.

Uscita is the only hope to save life on Earth, and he is forced to make crucial decisions that affect the entire universe. He is left with few options, until he discovers what the Shadow Lord has wanted all along: his soul.

Yesterday's Shadow is a fantastic story about a young boy faced with extraordinary challenges and an evil being determined to destroy the universe. It is an intricate and enthralling journey through time, space and the human heart.
