A Tale of Two Secretaries -- Author Describes Separate Lives of Two Co-Workers Later Reunited

CHICAGO, Aug. 3, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- In a lively story about the experiences of two women who meet while working at a savings and loan office, A Tale of Two Secretaries: "The Belles of Broadway and Wilson Avenue" (now available through AuthorHouse), Aleda Reh describes the separate paths they take in life, their unique stories and the reunion that brings them together again.

Doreen and Vita meet at a large financial office in Chicago in 1958. Both grew up during the Great Depression and lived through World War II. Through the lives of these women, Reh details historic events such as the great sugar shortage and the terror of the Holocaust. Shortly after the two women are introduced, Vita is fired because the boss' son cannot handle her powerful influence in the office. Shocked and bitter about it for many years, she eventually finds temporary happiness with a wealthy tycoon, Chazz Chase. While working with him, she meets her true love. Vita lives a contented life with this man.

After Vita's firing, Doreen continues working for the association chairman, Jake Kahnner, until she nears retirement age, which coincides with the demise of the savings and loan industry. She also learns his family business secrets. Later she meets Luke, who becomes a dear friend and business partner in a successful venture in Las Vegas.

These two strong women find themselves on different paths, but they enjoy a nostalgic reunion and realize they have lived fulfilling lives. A Tale of Two Secretaries is a captivating book about two women's experiences in the midst of a changing world.

Reh is currently a real estate broker in Chicago. Once a secretary herself, she learned the inner workings of entrepreneurship, which was once dominated by men. A Tale of Two Secretaries is Reh's second book. Her first book is Wanderers of the World (Vantage Press 2003).
