The Perils of Unknown Planets -- Mission to Find Gold Ends in Capture in New Book

ESCONDIDO, Calif., Aug. 5, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- When Captain Kicef and his crew venture into deep space to find a planet laden with gold, they discover more than riches. In Nick Caesar's new science fiction novel, Zephir (now available through AuthorHouse), the crew is swept into a massive war between two planets and must battle for survival.

When a meteor packed with gold lands on Earth, scientists track its origin to Zephir's solar system. Captain Kicef then departs on a journey to recover the precious metal with his crew: Yato, the engineer; Slim, the analyst; Heshim, the captain's right hand man; and Chetir. They achieve their goal and reach Zephir unscathed, but realize it is engaged in a deadly war with a neighboring planet, Caprikahar.

Kamar, the leader of Zephir, captures the crew because they resemble the enemy, the Caprikats. They are tortured during interrogations, but they have no information to disclose. It becomes clear that unless they flee, they will be killed. Captain Kicef and the crew rely on the kindness of Princess Shlilah to help them craft a successful escape. In a thrilling ending, the crew fights their way through dangerous Zephirian air space.

Zephir is an exciting story that portrays the mission of Captain Kicef's crew, the plight of the f Zephir people and the viewpoint of King Kudah, Caprikahar's leader. Suspenseful and unique, it is an enthralling work of science fiction that depicts humans' ingenuity and bravery when thrown into troubled, distant galaxies.

Caesar is a former psychology and foreign language adjunct instructor. A musician, screenplay writer and ranked amateur tennis player, he has written another science-fiction novel, Opposition.
