CDKnet's Arkados and GDA Technologies Collaborate to Produce Silicon for Powerline Communications

Agreement Expected to Bring In-demand, HomePlug-Certified Chips to Market

NORTH PLAINFIELD, N.J., Aug. 24, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- CDKnet.com, Inc. (OTCBB:CDKN) today announced that its Arkados Inc. subsidiary has entered into a collaboration agreement with GDA Technologies Inc., a leading hardware design firm. The two companies have agreed to work together to quickly bring HomePlug-certified silicon to market.

Each company recognizes that a great synergy exists between them: Arkados' team has accumulated years of experience in Powerline communications and System-on-chip design while GDA has excelled in building complex semiconductors for the leaders of the semiconductor industry.

"We are very pleased to be working with GDA," stated Oleg Logvinov, president and chief executive officer of Arkados. "Their engineering team has demonstrated remarkable results with previous projects, and they have a proven track record in the marketplace."

"Powerline communication holds an excellent promise, and it is exciting to be working in this space along with Arkados," said Ravi Thummarukudy, vice president and general manager of IC Design Solutions at GDA. "We were impressed with the Arkados design and felt that our team, having successfully served several leading electronic product companies can make Arkados' design another success story."

Based on a worldwide specification from the HomePlug Powerline Alliance, powerline technology uses the power lines already in a home as a high-speed network, allowing digital devices, such as computers and consumer electronics, to connect to each other, and to the Internet. Mr. Logvinov also serves as president of the HomePlug Alliance.

"GDA's team will become an extension of our team and will bring additional resources and vast expertise into this project," Logvinov said. "This collaboration will bring highly integrated, lower-cost powerline solutions to market for in-home data networks and for entertainment applications such as digital audio and video."
