After Tuesday's Bell Market Commentary
On Tuesday, crude-oil futures closed lower for a third consecutive session, briefly falling below $45 a barrel. Light crude for October delivery fell as low as $44.75 before settling at $45.21. The Dow ended up 25.58 points, or 0.25 percent, at 10,098.63, off an intraday low of 10,062.13. The Nasdaq Composite finished down 1.81 points at 1,836.89. The Standard & Poor's 500 closed up 0.51 points at 1,096.19. The Russell 2000 index was up 1.54 points at 545.01.
