Running with the Pack -- Author Recounts Her Intimate Experiences with Legendary Green Bay Football Players

MAUSTON, Wis., Sept. 2, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Five stories up on the fire escape of a popular Green Bay, Wis., hotel, Sandy Sullivan waited for Green Bay Packer legend Paul Hornung to sneak her in so they could make love and he could avoid curfew fines. Sullivan shares this and many other stories of the greats who graced Lambeau Field in the 1960s in her new book, Green Bay Love Stories and Other Affairs (now available through AuthorHouse).

"Golden Boy" Hornung, Dan Currie and Vince Lombardi bring feelings of pride and love to most Green Bay citizens as each syllable of their names are pronounced. Sullivan, however, did not know much about football when she came to Green Bay in 1961. She was living in Milwaukee, a young 19-year-old looking to experience everything and celebrate this new era of sexual freedom. After finishing a promotional job for the Packers organization, she found herself star-struck in the midst of legends.

Green Bay Love Stories recounts her years as a devout Packer fan and offers insight into the intimate relationships she shared with some of the most legendary figures in football history. Almost from the first meeting, she became Hornung's girlfriend. A self-described playboy, Hornung made quite an impression on the young Sullivan, although she says she never got too caught up in their relationship.

Sullivan found herself in the middle of a whirlwind of Packer personalities, from Buckets Goldenberg, who became like a second father to her, to Max McGee, a gentleman that definitely preferred blondes, to the great Coach Lombardi. Despite her liaisons with Hornung, it was a dashing man in "Golden Boy's" stead with "movie star looks" who had a large impact on her life when he shyly knocked on her door. Although she lived with Currie, the gentleman caller, for four years, she never married him or any other professional football player.

From parties to practices, Sullivan boldly shares her personal experiences in the presence of legends. For Packer fans, Green Bay Love Stories is the ultimate intimate account to enhance the legendary men who bled and triumphed on the green grass and frozen terrain of Lambeau field.

Sullivan is a college instructor, motivational speaker and author. She works diligently to preserve the memories of the glory days through her company and her writing. Green Bay Love Stories is her first book.
