Buffalo Technology Amplifies Wireless With its New Line of High Gain Antennas

The Latest Additions to Buffalo's Signal Enhancing Antennas are Now Compatible With Other Manufacturers' Routers and Access Points

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 7, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Buffalo Technology, a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of wired and wireless networking, storage and memory solutions, today announced three new additions to its high performance line of wireless signal extending antennas. The new antennas include the AirStation 9dBi High Gain Wireless Indoor Directional Antenna (WLE-DA2); the AirStation 6.5dBi High Gain Indoor Omni Directional Antenna (WLE-HG-NDR); and the AirStation 4.5dBi Indoor Compact Yagi Antenna (WLE-MYG).

Buffalo's new antennas are designed to double the signal gain and boost wireless performance for home, SOHO and small business wireless networks.

"Just like with cell phones, our wireless networking customers demand ultimate coverage. You can't be in a small office and have your wireless signal drop. That is inconvenient and unproductive," stated Stephen Dix, vice president of sales and marketing for Buffalo's PC Peripheral Division. "With our new high gain antennas, we are solving our customers' coverage issues by providing a solution that improves their signal strength and enhances their wireless experience."

Buffalo's antennas are available in the 2.4GHz frequency range and support 802.11b and 802.11g wireless devices. The antennas include an MC connector and MC to RP-TNC connector and are now compatible with other manufacturers' routers and access points.

The Indoor Directional Antenna allows for adjustable vertical or horizontal transmission for a powerful, direct signal while the Omni Directional Antenna offers 360-degree coverage, which is perfect for coverage in large or multi-room spaces.

The Yagi Antenna's unique compact design makes it the perfect portable solution for use while traveling or in Hot Spots. The adjustable antenna head allows users to further boost their signal in low coverage areas. No software is required, which makes all of Buffalo's new high gain antennas very easy to install and use.

Backed by a limited two-year warranty and toll-free 24/7 technical support, Buffalo's new antennas are immediately available. The AirStation 9dBi High Gain Wireless Indoor Directional Antenna (WLE-DA2); the AirStation 6.5dBi High Gain Indoor Omni Directional Antenna (WLE-HG-NDR); and the AirStation 4.5dBi Indoor Compact Yagi Antenna (WLE-MYG) are all offered at an estimated street price of $39.
