STOCK COMMENTARY:
US stocks ended Monday around the lows for the day. The action which drove the tech-heavy Nasdaq skyward tapered off into the finish. Large-cap stocks were basically flat all day.
Hurricane Ivan continues to bear down on the the United States. That, and persistent political instability pushes day traders to discover reasons to jump in. Many equity traders believe the major exchanges will pull back to finish the trading week.
