WHAT: The 3G CDMA Industry Achievement Awards recognize significant contributions by companies and individuals toward the advancement of wireless technology. Given in the following categories since 2000, industry awards will be presented for: -- Industry Leadership -- International Leadership -- Service Innovation -- Subscriber Technology Innovation -- Network Technology Innovation -- Innovative Solutions This year, the CDMA Development Group (CDG) (www.cdg.org) added new categories to recognize the contributions of the content provider and application developer communities. Consumer awards will be presented for the most innovative: -- Application of music/audio -- Game development -- Use of messaging -- Entertainment technology development Enterprise awards will be presented for the most innovative: -- Wireless enterprise solution implementation -- Wireless enterprise solution development WHO: The Awards will be co-presented by Perry LaForge, executive director of the CDG, and Gerry Flynn, vice president, industry relations for the CDG, and director, advanced technology strategy/standards at Verizon Wireless. Ed Meskill, publisher of Mobile Enterprise Magazine, will present the awards for the Enterprise category. Ralph Simon, chairman of the Mobile Entertainment Forum's Americas group, will present the awards for the Consumer category. The CDMA Development Group is a trade association formed to foster the worldwide development, implementation and use of CDMA technologies. The more than 100 member companies of the CDG include many of the world's largest wireless carriers and equipment manufacturers. The primary activities of the CDG include development of CDMA features and services, public relations, education and seminars, regulatory affairs and international support.
