Scania at the IAA exhibition in Hanover


SODERTALJE, Sweden, Sept. 20, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- At the IAA commercial vehicle exhibition in Hanover, Scania's complete new truck range is shown for the first time at a main international show. The fair opens for the press tomorrow, Tuesday. On Wednesday, Scania invites to a press conference on its stand at 09:00.

Scania's main messages on the stand are related to the new truck range and engine technology, with special focus on Euro 4 and forthcoming emission standards. A representative selection of long-haulage, construction and distribution models are on display, representing the new P-, R- and T-series - as well as Scania's new 420 hp Euro 4 engine with EGR that is already on the market.

Another premiere is the new Scania Irizar Century luxury coach, with a restyled, more wind-cheating exterior, as well as an updated interior with better passenger comfort and a new driver's area. As the flagship of the coaches exhibited at the IAA, Scania shows the stylish Scania Irizar PB, Coach of the Year 2004.

Scania's extensive range of Fleet Management services are also be presented. Scania Fleet Management provides services that enable driver support, security as well as transport and vehicle management to be tailored to the transport company's operations. Based on an open IT- architecture, the range of services is suitable for anything from single- truck and owner-driver operators to large multi-brand transport fleets.

Scania will hold a press conference at 09:00 on Wednesday - stand C 06 in hall 17. Scania's executive management will be represented by Leif Ostling, President and CEO and Group Vice Presidents Gunnar Rustad, responsible for Sales and Services, and Hasse Johansson, responsible for Research and Development.

The IAA exhibition is open until 30 September. Public visitors are welcome from Thursday this week.
