Desert Mining to Drill Maverick Prospect

LOVELAND, Colo., Sept. 23, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Desert Mining, Inc. (OTCBB:DSRM) today announced it is drilling its Maverick Prospect located in Weld County, Colorado. The Frank State 15-36 well will test the "D" sand formation and, if successful, could support up to four additional wells. The prospect is just north of the Greasewood Field that produced over 1 million barrels of oil. Desert acquired 75% working interest in the prospect in August.

Peter Nelson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said: "This is a very exciting prospect, with current forecasts of strong demand and pricing for energy, we feel this provides us with an opportunity to participate, with moderate risk, in what could prove to be a significant source of income for Desert."
