James Shanahan Named FieldTurf Regional Sales Manager

DALTON, Ga., Sept. 28, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- FieldTurf Vice-President of Marketing Troy Squires announced today the appointment of James (Jim) Shanahan to the position of Regional Sales Manager, Atlantic Region, based in Philadelphia.

"Jim has the perfect credentials, not only for FieldTurf in our quest to maintain our leadership position, but for customers looking for expertise and knowledge," said Squires. "In addition to his sales, construction and marketing expertise, he has an impressive history of teaming up with designers, builders and other companies to meet the specific needs of our clients."

Shanahan's experience in stadium turf-product development, installation, marketing and sales is complimented by his thorough understanding of the biomechanical criteria of synthetic turf. "This knowledge base is critical to meet the needs of today's athletes and coaches," noted Squires.

A former collegiate athlete, Jim Shanahan received his BA in Economics from Dickinson College in 1994, and went to work with his family business until 1999. During that time, he worked in a variety of positions from sales representative to operations manager, eventually being promoted to sales manager. He joined the turf industry as a sales rep for Sprinturf, handling projects in various parts of the country.

"This is a logical next step for me," said Shanahan. "I feel like a minor league player called up to the majors! FieldTurf is the ultimate synthetic surface solution. Their patents, proprietary technology, installation methodology and engineering are what attracted me to the company. In today's competitive synthetic turf industry, I have seen other turf companies struggle to compete with FieldTurf's patented all-weather playing surface, quality installations and financial stability. It's great to be on the winning team and it's a wonderful opportunity to put all of my abilities to the best use possible. FieldTurf is the future of artificial grass and I am proud to be a part of it."

FieldTurf has become the unquestioned artificial turf of choice of the NCAA and the National Football League. Twenty of the NFL's 32 teams currently have FieldTurf at either their stadiums and/or their practice facilities. In a poll of all NFL players, the NFL Players Association ranked FieldTurf as the third-best of the NFL's 32 stadium fields. In that poll, FieldTurf finished ahead of 20 of the league's 22 natural grass fields. Twenty NCAA Division 1 universities have FieldTurf in their football stadium, including Nebraska, Michigan, Wisconsin, Kansas State, Washington, Oregon and Missouri. Many additional D-1 programs also have FieldTurf at their training/practice facilities. FieldTurf was also the first artificial surface approved for World Cup play by FIFA, the world governing body of soccer.

Over the past few years, the quality and performance of FieldTurf's patented system has resulted in over 950 installations in more than 40 countries and has made it the first choice for top stadiums around the world. FieldTurf is a privately held company that has revolutionized the artificial turf industry with its patented products and installation technologies.
