During the interview, Mr. Schwartz outlined the business and marketing plan of SCAN USA. SCAN USA is designed to be the first national emergency alert system that allows local police departments and public safety agencies to broadcast alerts to the PCs, cell phones, pagers and PDA's of their neighborhood and local residents. SCAN USA has announced an exclusive marketing partnership with SBC Communications to provide alerts free of charge to SBC customers in SBC's thirteen state territory. The program is planned to begin in California during October, 2004.
