General Environmental Management, Inc. (GEM) Announces John A. Brunkow to Head Software Effort and Application Software Name Change to GEMWARE

POMONA, Calif., Sept. 30, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- General Environmental Management, Inc. (GEM) (www.go-gem.com), a leading environmental and remediation company, announced today that it has consolidated the roles of CEO and Chairman of the Board with the current CEO Tim Koziol. The combining of the positions is intended to create a unilateral voice to shareholders and key clients, and more importantly to allocate more time for the company's current Chairman John A. Brunkow, a founding shareholder and IBM veteran, to provide specific guidance on the continued development and growth of the company's application software.

Tim Koziol stated, "Mr. Brunkow served the company as Chairman of the Board during its most critical period of early development. To John's credit, he recognized that his contribution to shareholder value would be more significant due to his broad specialization in software development and sales. His focused efforts will help build this portion of our business expeditiously."

John Brunkow commented, "I am very excited about the new GEMWARE(r) operating system which is designed as an electronic financial, operating, and compliance tool. It will be the backbone for the future growth of the company. The development of GEMWARE(r) version 2.0 as an ASP offering will bring additional value to our current and future customers"

Kevin O'Connell of General Pacific Partners, LLC stated, "John's guidance and management as it relates to GEMWARE's(r) development and significance as a business origination tool should create a positive trend with the company's revenue efforts immediately."
