When: Friday, October 15, 2004 2:30 p.m. Where: SeaStar -- The School for Neuroeducation (formerly known as The Tustin Center and The Alex Center) 165 North Myrtle Avenue Tustin, CA 92780 What: Jack O'Connell, State Superintendent of Public Instruction for California, will make a special visit to The Tustin Center to unveil the school's new name, SeaStar -- The School for Neuroeducation. The ceremony, which is open to the public, will include presentations of insightful posters and poems from the school's children, all in honor of the new name, National Brain Injury Awareness Month and the great impact the school has had on its students, their families and the community. SeaStar is one of only four schools in the nation that services the special needs of children who have survived acquired brain injuries and it remains the only facility of its kind on the West Coast. SeaStar currently serves 18 students with the capacity for 42. Within a 60-mile radius of Tustin, there are more than 850 children and adolescents in the public school system who are educationally classified with Traumatic Brain Injury.
