Scania Briefs the European Parliament on Engine Development and Alternative Fuels


SODERTALJE, Sweden, Oct. 12, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Scania today organises an evening seminar at the European Parliament in Brussels on the theme Sustainable Road Transport -- Advanced Engines and Fuel Alternatives. The seminar gathers around one hundred participants, representing members of the newly elected parliament, top executives at the European Commission and experts from the industry and authorities.

Hasse Johansson, head of Research and Development at Scania, opens the seminar by presenting the company's view on the transport sector's contribution to a sustainable development and Scania's work to reduce energy and the development of alternative fuels.

Other speakers at Scania's seminar will be Alfonso Gonzalez Finat, DG Energy and Transport, Roger Davies, Shell and Urban Johansson, Scania.
