EMS to Add New CTS Series Falcon Radome to Family of SATCOM Products

OTTAWA, Oct. 12, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ELMG) announced today that it will soon add a Falcon 50 and 900 series 4000 fin tip radome to its growing family of Satcom/DBS radomes it offers to the business aviation market. This tail-top radome has been certified for installation on the Dassault Aviation aircraft, including the Falcon 50 and Falcon 900. EMS intends to extend this certification to the Falcon 2000 aircraft within the next 12 months.

The CTS (Complete Tail Solution) radome is designed to accommodate a wide variety of DBS (Direct TV Broadcast Systems) and SATCOM antennas, including the EMS AMT-50 Inmarsat Aero-H/H+ antenna, and the EMS DBA-1150/-1160MR Direct Broadcast Satellite TV antenna, which operates with Honeywell's AIS-1000 and AIS-2000 system.

Dassault Aviation, one of the major General Aviation airframe manufacturers in the world, currently offers EMS's AMT-50 antenna as a factory option on all of its aircraft, with over 250 antenna systems already installed. While Dassault may continue to supply its radome for single antenna options, this new EMS radome will allow Falcon Jet operators the luxury of operating with both a worldwide Satcom and a DirecTV system.

"This series CTS radome will increase the connectivity capacity of Falcon Jet operators now that more antenna space is available in the aircraft tail. Today's busy and highly effective executives need high-speed data access as well as DirecTV options while in the air to keep ahead of their competition, and stay apprised of both world events and the latest changes in the economy, while being able to communicate with their clients and corporate headquarters. No one can afford to be out of touch for hours on end," said Neil Mackay, senior vice president & general manager - EMS SATCOM Division. "Our understanding of their needs, combined with our communications expertise, allows EMS SATCOM to provide our customers with a total communications solution. Our radome solutions now encompass all trans-continental aircraft, including the Boeing BBJ, Gulfstream, Bombardier and Dassault aircraft" he added.
