Bitfone Targets European Market With Addition of Bernard Desarnauts, Vice President Of EMEA


LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif., Oct. 13, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Bitfone Corporation (www.bitfone.com), the company that pioneered firmware update technology over-the-air (OTA) for mobile phones, today announced it has appointed Bernard Desarnauts as Vice President of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He will be responsible for advancing Bitfone's products and services throughout the region.

Bernard has more than 15 years of experience as an entrepreneur and executive with leading high technology companies. Previously, Bernard was the founding CEO of ViaFone, a privately held mobile enterprise software company which raised more than $35 million in venture capital from leading venture investors, and was acquired by Extended Systems (Nasdaq:XTND).

Bernard was also the VP of Products at NetObjects, co-inventor of Fusion and part of the management team that drove a successful IPO in 1999. Prior to NetObjects, Bernard was VP of Marketing at Maxinfo, an Internet application software company sold to NetManage. Bernard started his career with Borland International.
