LAS VEGAS, Oct. 14, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- US BioTec, Inc. (Pink Sheets:USBO), an emerging player in the rapidly growing bio-chemical sector of the multi-billion dollar agri-business industry, today announced that it is jointly developing a patentable all-natural commercial insect repellent product with Earthtech Labs for production and mass marketing. The new bio-chemical repellent can replace the toxic pesticides commonly used in agricultural applications to control certain pest insects.
US BioTec joined forces with Earthtech Labs to co-develop certain environmentally friendly bio-chemical alternatives to toxic agri-chemicals presently on the market. The first new product jointly developed by US BioTec and Earthtech Labs is a new bio-chemical to replace insecticides. The product will be produced and marketed by US BioTec.
The bio-chemical product could see a limited launch next year and mass marketing in 2006. This product has the potential to be used widely in the tobacco, peanut, bell pepper and tomato markets for combating the costly tomato spotted wilt virus. Currently, there is no viable product on the market that will inhibit tomato spotted wilt virus.
