RYAAY

Just a quick congrats on RYAAY! We told you last Friday about RYAAY. From the open on Friday ($26.73) to Tuesday's high of $28.00, RYAAY moved up (so far) $1.27. AWESOME. That's while the market around has been pretty weak, too. Again, congrats.

"Gold, Silver, and Member Questions Answered"

Most of us either remember or know about the oil crisis of the mid-1970s. I can remember vividly waiting in line for gas. It was scorching, humid, and the vinyl seats in our station wagon were sweaty-hot on the back of my legs. Yep, those were long waits.

Around that time, Cable TV began its explosion across America. 24 hour TV brought advertising of a different sort into our homes. You may recall that Ted Turner (of WTBS and CNN fame) revolutionized TV advertising and built an empire around his ground-breaking advertising schemes.

One advertisement which garnered my attention then, was an ad that screamed loudly: The oil crisis is just the beginning. The world is near an economic meltdown. You must own gold to hedge against inflation, devaluation of the dollar, and all-out social anarchy...

...or something like that.

I mean, we see these commercials "all the time". You see them every now and then (and by "you", I mean *you*) on late-night cable. Heck, even the "Shop at Home" folks are in on the Gold "act". They have whole shows devoted to Gold and Silver coins.

It is true that Gold has spiked up sharply a few times over the last 30 years, but as of 2000, the "precious metals" market was down sharply from all-time highs. That was when the commercials began to argue that since Gold was at such a low level it was "time to buy".And, yeah, they were right. It WAS time to buy. But, that's what the Gold believers always say. In fact, there is an entire industry built around the belief that the Government will one day default on all the Federal Reserve Notes (i.e. the cash in you pocket), and then, you'll wish you had some Gold and Silver laying around.

Now, we don't know about all that. But, what we do know is that it makes sense to have some gold and silver in your portfolio. Here are some reasons we think it makes sense to own some Gold and Silver:

1. History shows that every society since time began (well, maybe not "every", but you know what we mean...) values Gold and Silver. Many societies even based their currency on the value of Gold (For example, the United States).

2. Gold and Silver are usually easily converted into cash. Hey, if you have a pawnshop, jeweler, or coin dealer in town, you can sell your Gold or Silver if you need to -- one piece at a time. You can't do that with stocks or bonds.

3. Gold and silver are easily transportable. You can keep a few "Silver Eagles" in your pocket, if you'd like.

4. They are, actually, a pretty good hedge against inflation. In fact, precious metal prices are a fairly good indicator (historically) of the strength of the underlying economy (rising metals prices tend to reflect weakening economies). With oil prices on the rise and potentially HUGE U.S. debt ahead, gold and silver could stay stable or rise for quite a while.

5. Oh, yeah, Gold and Silver coins or bullion just plain look cool!

We think it probably makes sense to keep about 5% of your portfolio in Gold or Silver. If you have $10,000 in the market, why not pick up $1,000 in Gold and Silver? If you want a short-term investment, Gold and Silver might now work for you. But, if you want a long-term, inflation-hedge that you can carry in your pocket if you want, look into Gold and Silver.

If you want more information on where to get Gold or Silver, email me (don@strikefriday.com). I'll be happy to point you in the direction of some major dealers I think will give you a great deal.

Now, regarding today's market:

Folks, we keep hammering home that the S&P must stay above 1100. It's inching closer to that mark, and we reiterate: WATCH the 1100 mark. A close below there would mean sharp, quick downside, we think.

"One GREAT Question"

We got this today:

Don,

"For more than a week now the Penny Stock and Swing Trade have reflected the same suggestions (SONS & SPRT) although this last one is no more. I subscribe to both, but it doesn't seem right paying for both when the suggestions are the same. Actually, it is not what you promised. I know we are in a "down" market but,......When will you change this? Thank you" -- Andy F.

Andy, first, thanks for the question. Here's the answer: We try to find the best stocks we can. The market has been bad recently. The stocks we found during this market malaise have beaten the market as a whole, but there are not that many stocks to choose from. So, when we find so few stocks with the kind of upside we feel comfortable reporting, we sometimes give stocks to more than one service -- if the criteria applies. In the case of SONS and SPRT, we felt they were small enough in price to apply to the Penny Stock service, yet the type of trades available would work for swing-traders, too. You may notice that we gave a "bonus" pick (RYAAY) to all members last Friday and it moved up nicely in that time (see opening note).

The "bottom line" is this: We will do our BEST to find stocks that go up for you. That's all we do. It's our mission. But, we will not "force" a pick out, and we will not lower our standards just to make sure we get some new picks out.

I hope that all of you know how sincerely we take our work here. We thank you for all your support, and hope you'll continue to trust us to do the best we can for you.

Andy, thanks again for the question. If any of you would like to email me directly, please send email to don@strikefriday.com.

See y'all tomorrow!
