Diabetic Treatment Centers of America, Inc. (OTCBB:DBTC), a company dedicated to providing diabetics with significantly improved health and a better quality of life, announced after the closing bell on Monday the hiring of Dr. Sherman B. Johnson, M.D. Dr. Johnson will oversee all medical aspects of clinic operations. In addition, Dr. Johnson will evaluate all new therapies as they become available, and determine the value of those therapies to the Diabetic Treatment Centers of America patients.

Dr. Johnson stated, "I am very excited to be a part of the Diabetic Treatment Centers of America team. Our PIT therapy will greatly improve the lives of many people suffering from the difficulties brought on by severe diabetes."

Shares of DBTC closed Monday at $1.05 a share.

Connetics Corporation (Nasdaq:CNCT)

After the bell Monday, dermatology pharmaceutical company Connetics Corporation reported net income for the third quarter ending September 30, 2004 of $3.7 million, or $0.10 per diluted share, compared to net income of $1.6 million, or $0.05 per diluted share, for the third quarter of 2003. Total revenues for the third quarter of 2004 were $37.3 million, compared with total revenues of $19.7 million for the third quarter of 2003.

Also on Monday, Connetics Corp. announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved its first product to treat acne, Evoclin, a topical foam.

CNCT closed Monday's regular trading session at $28.03, up 43 cents, on volume of 1,188,484 shares.

Nova Communications Ltd. (OTCBB:NVAC)

Nova Communications Ltd. announced Monday that Aqua Xtremes, Inc., its majority-owned subsidiary, has joined the merchant program of Consumer Promotions, Inc. The company said that during the Company's upcoming trade show, a $1,000 cashable voucher toward the retail purchase of an XBoard, Aqua Xtremes' revolutionary jet-powered surfboard, will be offered. Nova Communications added that XBoard will be officially unveiled at the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat show from October 28th through November 1st.

Shares of NVAC closed Monday's trading session at $2.91, up 89 cents.

NewMarket Technology, Inc. (OTCBB:NMKT)

Communication technology company NewMarket Technology, Inc. announced Monday that its subsidiary, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service provider Xiptel Communications, has signed a contract worth an estimated $1 million over the next 3 years to provide VoIP services to NetFone Services Inc. of Vancouver, British Columbia. NewMarket Tech. added that Xiptel will be the underlying provider of VoIP services to NetFone for its roll out to consumer and business customers throughout Canada.

Shares of NMKT closed Monday at $0.49, on volume of 1.1 million shares.
