MELBOURNE, Fla., Nov. 1, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has appointed John Casko to be vice president, Engineering, Logistics and Technology for its Airborne Ground Surveillance and Battle Management Systems business area in Melbourne.

In this position Casko will lead an organization that provides the engineering talent and technology resources required by Northrop Grumman to ensure strong performance on its current and future programs.
Staffed by employees at company facilities in Melbourne, Lake Charles, La. and Warner Robins, Ga., the organization supports major programs such as the E-10A Multi-Sensor Command and Control Aircraft, E-8C Joint STARS, the Multi-Platform Radar Technology Insertion Program, various airborne mine countermeasures programs, and the NATO Alliance Ground Surveillance program.
Casko most recently served as the capture lead for Northrop Grumman's successful Battle Management Command and Control bid. Previously, he served the business area as director of advanced systems, director of strategic planning, and director and leader for the Advanced Surveillance and the Airborne Mine Countermeasures integrated product teams.
Casko earned a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Kansas, a master's degree in physical science from the University of West Florida and a master's degree with distinction in aerospace engineering from the Naval Post Graduate School. He is a member of Sigma Xi and the Scientific Research Society and has participated in Naval Studies Board assessments.
