HERNDON, Va., Nov. 2, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has named Carol Zierhoffer vice president and chief information officer for the company's Information Technology (IT) sector.

She will be responsible for establishing the IT sector's strategic direction and will provide leadership for all information systems and information technology activities for the sector and its business units.

Most recently, Zierhoffer served as vice president and chief information officer for Northrop Grumman's Electronic Systems sector. Zierhoffer joined Northrop Grumman in 1988 and has held several senior management positions.

Zierhoffer earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of New Hampshire, Durham, and a master's degree in computer information systems from Bentley College, Waltham, Mass.
